Why Sungage Is One of Our Strongest Products in the Field
Thursday, June 25th, 2026
Last week we had Nathan Moura, our Sungage account manager, join us remotely for a full product deep dive. Today Fred ran live comparison examples with the team. Here's everything you need to know and use.
WHO IS SUNGAGE?
Sungage is a Massachusetts-based company and the oldest and largest residential solar loan provider in the US — over 100 employees with offices in Boston, Oakland, and Hawaii.

LOAN PRODUCTS TO KNOW
⭐ Most Popular — 25-Year / 3.99% Best monthly payment. Go-to for the majority of customers.
Bright Start — Deferred Payment Defers 25% of the loan for 3 years. Payment is based on the remaining 75% during the deferral period. Designed to account for rising utility rates. Deferral amount is adjustable in the Sungage portal.
No-Fee 25-Year Loan Best tool for cash customers who plan to pay off early. No dealer fee built in.
Sunrise Loan Lowest monthly payment available. Payment increases 2.9% annually. Best in markets without solar incentives.
💡 Loans are transferable to new homeowners at the same interest rate. In CT and MA, customers often pay the loan off at point of sale — no lease assumption headaches. This is a selling point.
WHY THIS MATTERS IN THE FIELD
Most of our competition does not have access to Sungage. This is not a loan every solar company can offer — use it.
Customer was told "no" somewhere else? Run them through Sungage before walking away. 90% approval rate for 660+ FICO.
Ground mount customer? Sungage covers it. LightReach doesn't. Don't lose that deal.
Higher DTI tolerance means customers carrying more debt may still qualify. Don't assume — run it.
Customer near 640 or just under 700? Suggest Experian Boost before calling it a no.
Loan denied? Ask the customer if they received a counter-offer in their denial email — sometimes a lower loan amount still closes the deal.
⚠️ COMPLIANCE — DO NOT DO THESE THINGS
Do NOT create an email address for a customer to use on their application
Do NOT fill out the application on the customer's behalf
Do NOT combine Sungage with other loan products in a single deal
Do NOT explicitly tell a denied customer they received a counter-offer — you can only ask if one was included in their denial emai
Cash & Loan Just Got More Competitive
Monday, May 18th, 2026
Big news for your pipeline: we just dropped our cash and loan pricing, and the gap between our cash/loans options and LightReach TPO just got a LOT SMALLER!
Cash and loan was already the stronger product for your customers — they own the system, build home equity, and walk away with free power after payoff. Now the numbers are even harder to argue with.
